The Chairman of the Independent National
Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on Tuesday in Abuja
announced the appointment of three new aides.
The commission stated this in its bulletin, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent.
The appointees are Prof. Bolade Eyinla,
who has been appointed as the Chief Technical Adviser; Prof. Mohammed
Kuna as the Special Assistant to the INEC boss and and Mr. Rotimi
Oyekanmi, who has been named as Yakubu’s Chief Press Secretary.
Until his appointment, Eyinla was a
professor of History at the University of Ilorin and was also a National
Election expert at the UNDP-DGD.
Kuna, until his appointment, was a
professor of Political Sociology at the Usman Dan Fodio University,
Sokoto and a former Special Assistant to the former INEC Chairman, Prof.
Attahiru Jega, while Oyekanmi was a senior editorial staff of The Guardian newspaper.
